An Introduction To Web Hosting And Web Design
Before you start designing a website, you should have a pretty good idea about the web hosting services that you want. There are hundreds of web hosting companies that compete with each other to give you the best website hosting plan so make sure to check around and subscribed to a plan packed with features such as free domain name, unlimited space, unlimited bandwidth and good email support. Contrary to what it was 10 years ago, you can now find an affordable web hosting plan for as low as 3 USD a month.
Building a website is easy. All you need is a website builder and some basic knowledge with HTML codes. There are even online web builders that allow you to drag and drop the contents without coding anything. Regardless of what offline or online web builder you use, it is recommended that you make a mock layout of your web design first. Get a piece of paper and sketch where you want to put the images and texts. Doing so will allow you get a first glimpse of your web design.
If you are adept with HTML, you can use Notepad, which is a standard feature in Windows-based PCs. This text editor lets you create HTML pages by saving the file under the pertinent extension after inputting the HTML codes. However, designing a website through hard coding is time consuming and takes a lot of time and it takes in-depth knowledge in HTML programming to create dynamic web pages. You can save time and effort by using the dozens of user-friendly web builders that you can easily download in the internet.
Once you are done with your web design, you can then upload it to the web hosting company where you subscribed the plan. You can do this in two ways- by using the File Manager and uploading the files one at a time or by configuring your FTP server and upload the entire site in one click of a button.
