Golden Gate Park Connect: On a monthly basis volunteers and homeless will have opportunities to meet and gain a greater appreciation for life. Depending on the time of year there are chances to bring clothes, food, or just spend time with people who have been going through ruff times. View our resources page to get more information on how you can get involved.
Homeless Veteran Connect: SF connect has partnered with the local VA hospital and other veteran groups to help our veterans get assistance after working so hard to keep us safe. This is was of the largest initiatives in helping our fellow brothers and sisters. The biggest effort is helping those veterans connect with government officials in taking advantage of the benefits they earned. Much of the volunteer work will involve helping identify each persons specific situation.
Homeless Student Connect: There over over 1,000 homeless students in our area and that number is growing. Many of our students are becoming homeless due to both bad home environments and the lack of jobs in the area. This is the hope of our future and a large focus for our efforts. This group can often be the hardest to contact and help which is why the volunteer work is needed more that ever. Again our resources page can help in guiding you to opportunities that will fit your area of expertise or preference.
There is no effort that is too small or goes unnoticed. We encourage all to explore and get educated to make change in our areas of influence.
