Think About Interview Questions for Employers

If you’re looking for a way to enhance your interview skills, then one place to start with is how you can improve your level of asking interview questions for employers.   It’s no secret that employers look for potential candidates to ask intelligent questions.   You should not be afraid to ask difficult questions and in fact you’ll be seen as a potential spark for the company rather than just a dull flame.

You can start out with some simple online research on the company that you have an interview with.   Dig into the company’s history, see if you can find any recent article about the company, its sales reports and any trends in its growth or lack of growth.   Depending upon the position you’re planning to interview for, you might also consider asking additionally inquisitive questions to show that you may have growing managerial skills.

The following are some questions you can use as examples for what you might want to ask an employer during an interview:

1.What has the company done for showing employees it values them in the past 6 months?
This question is something that evokes more than a simple yes or no from the employer and leaves you sitting to hear more even when the employer thinks and brings up one or two things.
2.What are the top 5 things you’re looking from in a candidate?
This question offers the employer a way to narrow down the often lengthy job description into a shorter list of the top things he’s looking for.
3.Can you describe what the management hierarchy looks like for this particular position and what are the possibilities for advancement?
This gives the employer a way to describe whether there are multiple layers of authority and how you’ll fit into the current structure.   Does the interviewer show up in the hierarchy?
4.How often and who will be reviewing my performance?
This is a valid question and one that must be answered.   You need to be guaranteed that you’re setup for success, not failure in this position.
5.How are various types of decisions made here?
This gives you an idea of whether there’s any type of process involved with decision making at this company or if things just happen off the cuff.

Good luck.
