The Considerations In Teaching Children

Children have different ways of learning and teaching in an elementary school requires much patience.  This is also the age when kids become more active in their interaction with other people especially with their classmates.  During their formative years, elementary kids should be properly monitored as they are establishing their character.  Children at this age develop their personality and teachers are able to clearly see how they perform through the way these kids follow instructions.  Some kids are aggressive and then there are other kids who are absent-minded and emotionally disturbed.

There are a lot of factors that can affect the children’s behavior and it has something to do with their situation at home.  Kids who are not looked after by their parents properly are likely to act out their emotions in school especially in the way they interact with the classmates.  Teaching has to be somewhat personalized for these kids in order for the teacher to get the real cause of the problem.  In elementary school, this is when kids are also being bullied by their emotionally disturbed schoolmates.

The first step to curbing this common problem is to help both parties involved.  The kid being bullied may be initially seen as the victim but there could be a bigger problem with the bully.  Teaching stubborn bullies may be hard as they tend to disregard your instructions.  Learn to understand their situation and have the guidance counselor talk to them about their problems.  Corrective actions should already been done in the elementary school before it gets worse as they grow up.

There are always an underlying factor why kids behave the way they do in public.  If they cannot express themselves at home because of abusive parents then they may find a way to release their anger in school.  Teachers should learn to hear the two sides of the story and take corrective actions on their misbehavior.  Allow time for kids to trust you and be more of a friend when it comes to personal character issues rather than being an authoritative figure.  Nevertheless, school lessons should still be designed for easy comprehension even to the slowest learner in the class.
